Bismarck flooding. Satellite image taken on 3rd June 2011 of the flooded Missouri River and adjacent neighbourhood just north of Bismarck, North Dakota, USA. According to news reports the Army Corps of Engineers had been managing the sustained release of water from the Garrison Dam Spillway gates that covers approximately 80 miles of levees built in the Bismarck area. Imaged by the GeoEye-1 satellite from an altitude of 681 km above the Earth.
