CARTAGENA, Colombia (Nov. 17, 2016) Capt. James A. Kirk, commanding officer of USS Zumwalt (DDG 1000) talks with Adm. Leonardo Santamaria, commander of the Colombian Navy, aboard Zumwalt. Crewed by 147 Sailors, Zumwalt is the lead ship of a class of next-generation destroyers designed to strengthen naval power by performing critical missions and enhancing deterrence, power projection and sea control objectives.
