The Royal carriage and King's guards passing the old Eleanor Cross ( Cheapside Cross) at West Cheap (London, UK) at the time of King Charles I. It stood in middle of road facing Wood Street,and was built in 1290 by a mason from Canterbury known as Master Michael . It was rebuilt in 1441 when a drinking fountain, and some wooden structure around the old cross, covered with lead and gilt was added.
