The paratroopers monument at Tel Nof, Israel. אנדרטת הצנחנים Paratrooper memorial to the fallen in Israel's wars. Located at the road between Gedera & Rehovot, at Tel Nof, near a site that was once a major paratroopers base. At the entrance to the monument, there is a rock with an engraving that reads: "Let there be peace within your walls". The towering pillar, with a parachute wings is carved with the words of the poet - parachutist, Hannah Senesh "A voice called to me - and I went, I went because the voice called." The monument long stone wall is inscribed with the verse: "They were swifter than eagles they were stronger than lions." On the wall the names of the paratroopers, who fell from 1949 onwards. The monument was built at the initiative of the paratroopers force and the bereaved families, and unveiled on October 29th 1960
