Man in cycle helmet with 'Liberte, Egalite, Cyclicite' and cycle symbol on front, World Naked Bike Ride in Lonodon

Well over a thousand cyclists, many naked or near-naked, some decorated with body paint and slogans, cycled on a 6km route through busy central London on Saturday 14 June, 2008. This was the fifth annual World Naked Bike Ride in London, part of an international event that takes place in cities in dozens of countries around the world, designed to raise awareness of environmental problems, particularly those related to traffic and the car, but also our more general dependence on oil. It also aims to highlight the vulnerability of cyclists in city traffic.
