Hemlock plant. Historical artwork of the hemlock plant (Conium maculatum). The leaves of this plant are used for relieving pain in herbal medicine. The plant is poisonous and can cause paralysis of nerves and muscles. A tincture is used as a homoeopathic treatment for arteriosclerosis. Roots (lower left) and flowers (upper centre) are seen.
