WHOLESALE FLORISTS CHICAGO, ILL. Milwaukee. DEMAND KEEPS MARKET CLEAN. Thus far for the month of August, business conditions were quite satis- factory; while at no time was there anything- exciting, still the demand was such as to keep the market in a clean and healthy condition. Due to the late- ness of the season, it was not till last week that both asters and gladioli ar- rived in large quantities; still, with no carnations, good asters are bringing fair prices, which cannot be said of gladioli. The supply of roses, whieh was a little on the short side, is be- coming more plentiful and of better quality. Easter lilies do not move as quickly as one might wish. With the exit of the straw hat, September 1, many of the summer resorters will again rerurn to the city and the new season, 1017-18, will then commence. NOTES. J. F.
