President Baker explained the purpose of themeeting to consider the next step in the dormitoryproject in view of the serious cuestion which nowarises as to the possibility of completing the con-struction of the buildings before the opening ofCollege in the fall of* 1940. If the buildings cannot be available for occupancy the openine of College in the fail of 1940, it is a cuestion as to whether theirconstruction should be undertaken since it would bedifficult to guarantee occupancy.
