160730-N-OR652-065 ARABIAN GULF (July 30, 2016) – Lt. Byron Meek, assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) (Ike), gives the signal to launch an F/A-18F Super Hornet assigned to the Fighting Swordsmen of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 32 on the flight deck. Ike and its Carrier Strike Group are deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the 5th Fleet area of operations.
