UK. 3rd Jan, 2017. Sales of vinyl records in 2016 reached a 25-year high as music buyers throughout the country embrace new and old formats for purchasing their music. More than million records were sold last year which is the highest since 1991 and is a rise of 53% on the previous year. Over the last 12 months spending on vinyl outstripped that spent on digital downloads, the first time this has happened.
