Thewheel base, however, being seven feet (7) the condi-tions where this truck can be used are limited. Thismakes an excellent truck for a large Express carwhich is frequently used as a locomotive. No. 12. No. 18 TRUCK. No. 18, six wheel truck, is designed for very highspeed. The motors are placed on the outer axles, themiddle acting as an idler. A glance will show thedesign to be somewhat similar to the trucks placedunder a Pullman Sleeper, which for easy riding aswell as wear and tear on the track would be hard toexcel. As the outside wheel base, however, is ninefeet four inches (g-q.), this truck can only be usedwhere conditions are similar to those on a SteamRailroad. All of our trucks have M. C.
