Domestic animals are dogs, pigs, chickens, and ducks. VILLAGES AND HOUSES Dwellings are erected on piles and are scattered along the rivers. These houses are round and lack walls. The apex of the roof is often surmounted with a clay vessel (pi. 53, a). Several platforms for sleep- ing and storage are raised above the floor level. Hammocks are used only for children.
