Hay Castle Medieval keep (L), Jacobean mansion, & open-air book stalls. Photo taken in 1999 when owned by Richard Booth (King of Hay) who used it as a bookshop & party venue. Starting in the early 1960s, Booth turned Hay into the world famous 'Town of Books'. He sold the castle in 2011 to the Hay Castle Trust who plan to renovate the buildings & create an arts & educational centre.
