. Diptera danica : genera and species of flies hitherto found in Denmark. Diptera -- Denmark. Dolichopodidae. 173 Remarks: It is curious that Loew (Neue Beitr. V, 19) says about this species, that it has a hairy (behaartes) scutelkim and is distin- guished from related species by this character; also Verrall (Ent. Month. Mag. XII, 1875, 34) says the same; the species has in reahty no hairy scutellum, there are only some very few, short hairs above as in the other species of Herxostomus. H. gracilis is somewhat rare in Denmark, and it was first detected in 1908; Rørvig, Melby at Tisvilde, Faxe
