On the night of the fatalwreck, the Pomona, Captain Douglas, heard signals ofdistress, when near Cape Corrientes; but from the stateof the weather she was unable to render assistance. Shewas from Jamaica, and bound to Glasgow. The four sur-vivors are still here. Doherty is not expected to live. Ihave not heard to whom the Medusa belonged.
