Pensioning of life-boat crews, who have retired on accountof age or as invalids, has been undertaken by a private fund,Crown Prince Frederiks Fund (Kronprinds Frederiks Fond) whichwas established in 1865 to relieve the survivors of those who havelost life or health in trying to save their shipwrecked fellow creatures;this, however, was established before the State had undertaken todo sufficient in this respect.
