About six local pottery manufac-East Liverpool, turers were put to considerableand Vicinity financial expense, and shipmentswere held up from these plantsfor almost ten days during the last fortnight, becauseof quantity that was being used was mixed wrongat the factory. When the gold was first fired in thedecorating kilns, it came out pink, and when firedagain it came out in a burnished effect. Some of themanufacturers who received gold in the same shipment, caught the ware before very many kilns werefired off, and this followed by the ware having to berubbed, re decorated and then fired again. In tbebottles, the gold looked all right, but after it was fired,a new treatment was produced. Tests were thenmade and the shipment of gold was thrown out. * * Joseph G.
