The Nepalese government requested assistance from Agency for International Development after the magnitude earthquake struck their country April 25. In response to the Nepal earthquake, the military sent Marines, Airmen, Soldiers and Sailors as part of Joint Task Force 505 at the direction of USAID. The Marine Corps continues to work hand-in-hand with the Nepalese government through USAID as part of Joint Task Force-505.
