Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, UK. 26th March 2013. An East Coast train travels on the East Coast mainline near Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. The East Coast franchise is expected to be back in private hands in under two years after plans announced today. The Department of Transport have controlled it since November 2009 when it was previously run by National Express.
