It may be seen that the head of 8. goodei tapers anteriorly at a relatively acute angle. An acutely tapered snout (as seen in dorsal view) is common to all four species of Sehastodes discussed in this paper and contrasts sharply with the condition I have observed in larvae of several other genera.
