TheAnkoli buffalo has been described as B. c. rnddiffei, and ischaracterised by the flattened and less rugged horns ; while thename B. c. nannanni has been given to the buffalo of northernUganda. The Kivu B. c. mathewsi of the Albert Edward Nyanzadistrict is a smaller horned animal, with a white tail-tip, related tothe Sudan Ankoli Buffalo ; the record specimen. Shot by F. A.
