The Wieza Ratuszowa (Town Hall Tower) and Sukiennice (Cloth Hall), Rynek Glowny (Main Market Square), Krakow, Malopolska, Poland


The Main Market Square was designed in 1257 and is the largest medieval square in Poland, measuring 200m by 200m. The tower is all that remains of the 15 th century town hall which was demolished 1817-1820. The belfry is covered by a Baroque roof. The Cloth Hall which was originally built in the 14 th century but, after being gutted by fire in 1555, was rebuilt in Renaissance style. The arcades were added in the late 19 th century.
