Hopman Ulrich or the ventiosity: the bribery; Hopman Ulrich. A guard asks a young man (Godefroy), which is secretly visiting his beloved (Sybille) in the night, to money. The young man puts his hand in his pocket. The bribery scene from the second company of the Blijspel 'Hopman Ulrich or the deceased violence' by Johan van Paffenrode (1661). In the Blijspel, the stingy character Ulrich is cheated by his wife Sybille, despite being guarding her. Her lover Godefroy prompts the guard.
