140521-N-MV308-162: SIGONELLA, Sicily (May 21, 2014) – Sailors assigned to the ‘Golden Eagles’ of Patrol Squadron (VP) 9 prepare for a water separation bag check on a P-3C Orion maritime patrol aircraft at Naval Air Station Sigonella. VP-9 is forward deployed to the 6th Fleet area of operations and is currently assigned to CTF 67, responsible for tactical control of deployed maritime patrol and reconnaissance squadrons throughout the Naval Forces Europe and Africa areas of operations.
