Fluorescence light micrograph of a transverse section through the haustorium of a mistletoe (Viscum album) plant that has penetrated the woody tissue of a sycamore tree (Acer pseudoplatanus). Mistletoe is hemiparasitic plant that absorbs water and nutrients from its host tree through the haustorium. Magnification 160x when printed at x 10 centimetres.
