Injuries of the Cervical Vertebrae.—Two positions have alreadybeen described. The lateral is the most useful, for it shows readily veryslight departures from the normal. Fracture dislocation of the cer^acal vertebrae is a not uncommon in-jury. Any part of the cervical region may be the seat of a appearances are unmistakable when well marked, but the doubt-ful cases give rise toconsiderable difficulty indiagnosis. Fig. 131
