The remains of the Roman aqueduct in the village of Le Tholonet near Aix-en-Provence, France

Le Tholonet is a village located in the heart of Provence in the south of France, near the city of Aix-en-Provence. The village is historically linked to famous personalities, in particular the painter Paul Cézanne who often represented the village and its surrounding landscapes, and the writer Emile Zola in his book "La faute de l'abbé Mouret". The Roman aqueduct can be seen along one hiking trail above the village. It was built at the time to supply Aix-en-Provence with fresh water.
