Sgt. Joseph R. Reyes, of Manteca, Calif., checks the wires connecting explosives to a detonator at one of the firing ranges on Camp Bondsteel Oct. 10. The French forces in Kosovo contacted Reyes' unit, the 217th Explosive Ordinance Disposal Company, California Army National Guard to help destroy the munitions that were nearing their expiration date. The soldiers from the 217th drove to the French ammunition supply point, picked up the munitions, and secured the area before beginning the detonation process.
