Mingledwith the wandering host are sometimes also seen the differentspecies of Swallow, — a family to which they are so much alliedin habits and character; but by the 20th of September thewhole busy troop have disappeared for the season. I have observed Nighthawks flying over the city of St. John, inNew Brunswick, during most of the summer months, and haveknown of the eggs being found frequently on gravel roofs in thatcity.
