Berlin-Schöneberg. Fox fountain in garden of Ceciliengärten housing estate built 1922 -1927 designed by architect Heinrich Lassen
The building design displays the influence of Art Noveau & Art Deco styles and a distinctive feature of the Ceciliengärten is the Southern studio tower. The tower studio apartment was used by artist Hans Baluschek between 1929 and 1933 as a workplace. The estate was named after the Crown Princess Cecilie of Prussia (1886-1954), wife of the German Crown Prince Wilhelm The garden was listed as a monument in 1977 and the building received monument status in 1995 . The central garden square has two water fountains, an oval pond with fountain and the ‘Fuchsfountain’ with a sculpture of a fox by Max Esser (1912). The sculptures in the garden are by sculptor Georg Kolbe – The two nude women are titled ‘The morning’ and ‘The Evening’
