With this object in view, an Act of Councilwas passed, by which the Librarv was formed intoa proprietary corporation of 1,000 shares of ^^25each, entailing an annual subscription of ^ i pershare. The name was changed from TheAustralian Subscription Library and ReadingRoom to The Australian Library and LiteraryInstitution.
