Boating on Lake Powell, Glen Canyon, AZ

Lake Powell, located on the Colorado River in Utah and Arizona, is an impressive man-made reservoir that covers over 161,000 acres and stretches over 186 miles. The lake was created as a result of the construction of the Glen Canyon Dam in the 1960s, which flooded the surrounding canyons and valleys to form the lake. The dam is a concrete arch-gravity structure that stands 710 feet tall and is 1,560 feet long, making it one of the largest dams in the United States.
