The contract over a distance of 18 miles andrequired seven camps, ranging in size from 15 to 60 men,and from 4 to 80 head of stock. Tents with Tiger bunks including board were furnishedthe men at 90 ct. per day. The camps were located ingeneral so as to make two miles the maximum distance togo to work, but this was not always possible on accountof difficulty in securing suitable camping sites. 130 ENGINEERINGAND CONTRACTING.
