Park General San Martin, on the western margins of Mendoza, was constructed in 1896 as a healthy air 'ling of the city' of environment after the diphtheria, cholera and measles epidemics associated with the disastrous earthquake of main entrance ornamental gates (seen in the view), decorated with a condor and coat-of-arms of the city, date to 1909.
