An elderly man collects fresh cherries in a field on the outskirts of Srinagar. The harvesting of mouthwatering and delicious cherry fruit crop have stated in full swing in Kashmir valley. About 25 percent of the state’s populations are directly or indirectly involved with the horticulture sector. Kashmir cherry enjoys virtually a monopoly as the fruit from the state is preferred across the country for its taste and quality. The production of cherry is increasing ever year. According to the horticulture department the cherry production is expected to be good this year.
