Barry Edward O'Meara (1786-1836), Irish surgeon. O'Meara is most famous for being the doctor to Napoleon Bonaparte during his exile on the island of St Helena. He was dismissed from this post after pleading for a change in the conditions in which Napoleon lived, which O'Meara blamed for the deterioration of his health.
