The workmanship is good. Upon the right side of the seatis the follou ing inscription : 4=A^iT^fJ-*^®tZ!TT*!mî bh-ink] ^ [blank]. In front is written : ^ ] ^^- Thepersonage is thus seen to hâve been named Sebekhetep,and to hâve l)een the superintendent of the ofîerings. Thedate is dynasty XII-XIII. Shauahd Jigiire of Amosea, a priest « J 11 ^ j from Tliebes. — Last year I obtained from a boy at Gurneh part of a lue glazed shauahti figure from which the head and feet liad been broken (fig. 1 ). It is of the type found in the XXVI dynastv, and is inscribed down the front in the usual inanner. The inscription reads : P t ^ j^*] * |^ J ^ Pig. ,. ?i1 ^ J I IÔmTi:ilM-_ The personage was thus n priest, chief reader, and scribe in the tempie of Dhip\ The ^vord Jll^is probabiy one of the many wrilings of ^|^ or ^O, Hermopolis.
