Tina Turner performs
Tina Turner known as the Queen of Rock & Roll was born on the26th Nov 1939 at Brownsville Tennesee. She developed a very unique stage personality during the 60s and 70s. She became famous on the hits of others which she personalised with her own style such as 'Proud Mary' (Creedence Clearwater Revival) and 'River Deep - Mountain High'. In 1984 her record 'Private Dancer' had three top ten singles in the One of these won Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Female Vocalist of the Year. The album sold over 15 million copies. She infamously duetted with Mick Jagger during the Live Aid Concert At the JFK stadium. Tina Turner has continued recording and is today one of the most successful female artists in Rock & Roll history. Her last world tour was in 2000 but she continues to give special performances to this day. She has sold more concert tickets than any other performer in history
