Sea turtle (superfamily Chelonioidea) swimming underwater. Sea turtles are large marine reptiles that spend most of their lives submerged at sea, coming to the surface to breathe. Some are herbivorous, feeding on marine vegetation, and others are omnivorous or carnivorous, feeding on sponges, jellyfish, molluscs and crustaceans. The females come to shore to lay their eggs. Photographed off Reunion Island, in the Indian Ocean.
