In Mayan mythology, "Rijlaj Mam" or Maximon, is a nawal of Mayan-Tz'utuhil of Santiago Atitlan, a town located on the shore of Lake Atitlan, Solola department in the Guatemalan highlands. This character is revered as "protector guardian" of tz'utujil town given its status as colonized people.
