The river and lakes near the little foreft where the family above mentioned had fixed their abode, abound with fine fifli, particularly t-out and barbie, which are eafily caught ^ the former with hooks, and the latter ip. In. faft, I have not feen or heard of any part of thi§ country which feema to polTefs half the advantages requifite for a conflant refidence, that are afcribed to this little fpot^ The defcendents, however, of the prefent inhabitants muft in time evacuate it for want of wood, which is of fo flow a growth in thofe regions, that what is ufed in one year,, exclufive of what is cut down and carried away by the Efquimaux, muft coft many years to replace.
