SYPHILIS OF THE NERVOUS SYSTEM Many diseases of the central nervous system are attributed to some of these affections, for example, in progressive paralysis, a causalconnection can only be determined by statistics, while changes of a syphiliticnature are never revealed in the histologic picture. It is well known thattabes shows histologically the changes already indicated; no signs pointingto syphilitic change have ever been determined.
