The now redundant (Grade II* Listed) Smardale Gill Viaduct near Kirkby Stephen, Westmorland, designed by Sir Thomas Bouch. The viaduct was part of the Stainmore railway route which ran between West Cumbria and County Durham. The line closed in 1962. It is now part of a nature reserve and walking route. The snow-capped hills of The Pennines can be seen in the background.
