A 1935 pattern Japanese army officer katana, Officer's sword in Shin-gunto mounts. Handle wrapped with brown cloth tape over white ray skin. Gold finished metal ornament in the form of three cherry blossoms mounted on the ray skin under the tape on each side. Steel scabbard retains 95 % olive drab paint and exhibits minor age/dents. Handmade blade with zigzag temper line, length approximately 66 cm. Tang is signed "Naga Mitsu". Complete with field officer sword knot. Overall length approx. 102 cm. USA-lot.
