(2) Du Pin fays, the Bifhops of France and Britain chofe rather to bear their own Expenccs than accept of the Emperors Allowance, which they thoughtwas beneath them. But it is more likely they accepted of the Emperors Allowance, fince they were but poorly endowd under the Rowan Emperors.
