Row of cottages at Ellenabeich on the Isle of Seil, west coast of Scotland. Built on and roofed in slate.
Easdale Island is the smallest permanently-inhabited island of the Inner off Scotland's west coast it covers an area of less than 10 hectares but has a permanent population of about 60, plus holiday makers in the season. Busy with slate mining until a huge storm flooded all the mines which ruined the industry overnight. Now the flooded mines make picturesque ponds reflecting back the Scottish skies.
