President Jamestown^ New York Mention The BeTlew when yoa ^rrite. BUFFALO, N. Y. The Market. The week-end found the market in a better condition than it had been for some time before. Stock cleared at steady prices and may not witness another glut until chrysanthemums are at their height, when there is always an oversupply for about a week. The stock of roses arriving is of excellent quality. Ophelia and Columbia are leading, fancy American Beauties are plentiful and the supply of specials is limited. Carnations are showing fast improvement and, although there is much short-stemmed stock, the best can really be classed as fancy. Much of the short-stemmed cut is from late plant- ings—plants which were planted out where they could not be watered dur- ing our severe summer drought. There is still a supply of gladioli, but most of these are small-flowered and mark the end of their season. Chrysanthemums are in better supply and prices have de- clined somewhat. There has also been a supply of pompons. F. P. A. NEWAEK, N.
