Ostrich family and eagle. These are southern ostriches (Struthio camelus australis) defending their chicks (lower right) against a martial eagle (Polemaetus bellicosus, upper centre). This subspecies of ostrich is found throughout much of southern Africa. Martial eagles are the largest eagles in Africa. Photographed in South Africa, in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.
