Kilimanjaro, 5895m, cooking bananas (plantains) are an important part of the traditional agriculture system, Moshi, Tanzania


The lower slopes of Kilimanjaro are are densely covered with a mixture of forest trees, banana and coffee plantations. This agricultural system is a perfect example of agroforestry, also known as the "Chagga Home gardens". The Chagga tribe has managed to integrate their intensive agriculture production system into the natural vegetation without destroying the environment.
