Carnations have nearly disappeared, but asters are much more plentiful and are of first-class quality this season. Weather conditions seem to have given the aster growers a better chance to make money than they had in recent years. The only greenhouse flower available in quantity is the rose. A number of growers have cut their early crops and are sending little to market, but the growers who planned specially for sum- mer crops still are cutting heavily and the quality of the roses never before has been so good at this time of the year. That is thanks to the cool weather. The supply of giganteum lilies has been somewhat reduced in the last few days, but there have been mo* than enough to
